As someone who has been through the process of overcoming anxiety and worry in my own life, I am able to empathize with my clients. Many of my clients come to me feeling a lack of control, low self-esteem, unshakeable sadness, intense worry, isolation, fear and a sense of feeling trapped. Knowing what it's like to suffer and work through anxiety myself, I want to provide my clients with a sense of peace and freedom; the ability to enjoy life and to be present with loved ones as we work through the root issues.

My specialty is trauma and PTSD, specifically adult victims of childhood abuse, but extends to difficult circumstances that may have left you heartbroken and unprepared.  I also work with anxiety, depression, postpartum, mood disorders and with young professionals as they navigate discovering their identity,  growing their career, and strengthening relationships. Additionally, I provide psychoeducational classes on the impact of trauma to individuals personally impacted, as well as family, friends, and those seeking to learn more information to best support their loved ones. I also host an ongoing group for young professional women between the ages of 20-35 twice a month. Click here for more information.

I practice from a holistic biopsychosocial viewpoint, focusing on the integration of psychology, biology, and social-environmental factors. This includes looking at our attachment and relationship connections, belief systems established through our personal experiences (ex: "I'm not good enough"), sleep concerns, exercise and micronutrients, as they all can shape our mental health and  finding healing approaches, such as therapy, to alleviate symptoms. I employ a number of modalities in my practice, such as Neurofeedback, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Trust Based Relational Interventions, and I'm certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. I'm currently working towards certification in Neurofeedback.

I earned by Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas at Tyler and a B.A. in Psychology from Stephen F. Austin University with a minor in Rehabilitation. In my seven years as an LPC, I've served as a child/adolescent therapist in schools, worked at a residential treatment center for adolescent victims of sex trafficking, was a clinical director for a mental health agency and have been in private practice for the past two years. I've also been part of PAIMI (Protection and Advocacy for Individuals with Mental Illness) Advisory Council through Disability Rights Texas for the past five years.

I am currently accepting new clients Monday-Friday, 11a.m. to 6 p.m both in person and via telehealth.
