What if you found your own safe, nonjudgmental space, where you could share your story? A place where you felt truly heard by a caring counselor? What if the counselor met you right where you are now and helped you grow to where you want to be?
I believe in the power of hope. I marvel at transformation—like gardens in spring, butterflies in metamorphosis, and giant oak trees that have weathered the storms. I bring that same sense of wonder when listening to your story.
I am intuitive, perceptive, and creative. I am also a straightforward counselor who speaks the truth in love. Laughter is restorative, and I offer a sense of humor in counseling. My abundant joy was forged in the depths my own life challenges, so I know that you can find meaning in the midst of your challenges, too. Most of all, I am a real person.
I like researching interventions that will be the right fit for your needs as an individual. My professional focus includes identity development and self-esteem; relationship issues and interpersonal conflict; anxiety; depression; and life transitions (infertility and miscarriage, recovery from narcissistic abuse, divorce, single parenting, job loss, and midlife career changes).
You are here on this site, demonstrating strength and courage to begin your counseling journey, and it would be my privilege to walk with you along your path. Together, we will forge a collaborative and dynamic counseling relationship.
I am a graduate student for a Master’s of Arts in clinical mental health counseling at Liberty University and decided to make a mid-life career change after wanting to be a counselor for many years. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Virginia. For the first half of my professional career, I served in fundraising and nonprofit development. When I am not engaged in counseling, engulfed in graduate school studying, or getting really dirty in my garden, I love to seek adventures with my intrepid teenager and feisty, little dog.
I am currently offering appointments in person on Mondays and Tuesdays and a few telehealth appointments on Thursdays. I especially enjoy working with children, adolescents, parents, and women.
